My big boy is 9!! It's hard to believe that it's true. He is full of fun and everything sports. Michael LOVES to play baseball these days whether he's at the pool playing with Mike & Ryan, (Mike pitches from the pool while one boy hits & the other is catcher outside the gate.) in the living room or outside at the park when the weather's cool enough. He and Ryan have made up lots of fun games using gloves & baseballs so I see this continuing FAR into my future! :) Football season is around the corner, so I bet he will be found most often holding a football instead of baseball. His love for his brother is growing, because of God's grace, and he loves playing with cousins & friends, too!
Michael also loves art! Drawing & making crafts are things he loves. He is in to having binders these days to keep track of things. One he has is exclusively his artwork, and the other for writing, another thing he's fond of! In 2nd grade, he, Trey and another friend began writing stories about "Old Gramps." The were slap-stick (shocker, I know) and super silly, but that's the stage we're in now! I can do silly! :)
Ryan gave him his gifts. First off, big league bubble gum to go with.......
with...his GOLDSCHMIDT JERSEY!!!!!! This was what he really wanted and was his (sort of) only gift from us!
and then there has to be a chocolate chip pancake in the shape of a 9!
Later that day, after church, we had a family swim party. Here's my attempt at a homemade Happy Birthday banner-in Packers' colors of course!
Michael asked for a football ice cream cake-pretty excited that it didn't turn to mush!
entertainment by cousin Amy-swimming under the bridge (her legs).
Uncle Jim & Uncle Matt
When we got home from the party the boys got their baseball attire on and headed outside to play baseball, using the new bat bag grandma gave Michael. A fun day had by all...
